I think it would be a very big mistake sending Gomez down. You would be doing the very thing your afraid of in letting his confidence slip away by sending him down. WAY too early to make a drastic move like this. Give him time. He provides a spark to this team like I have never seen since Kirby Puckett. Span will be doing the same thing with less energy and excitment us Twins fans need.

Twins are being over-reactionary. Clearly, all they really needed to do was get Joe C to write an entry in this blog saying, “Liriano Looks Dangerously Overmatched” before his next scheduled start and we’d have seen a no-hitter the next day. Problem solved.

Liriano also has been overmatched; he may need some more time to get his game back.
As for Gomez, he doesn’t lack for confidence. He can’t hit the breaking pitches yet and he chases out-of-strike zone fastballs.. Rookie issues.
