American Idol: The end of Castro’s reign

I shouldn’t get upset over a reality show, but I’ve got to admit: Jason Castro got my dander up. Yes, he was finally eliminated Wednesday night, but there’s no way he should have survived as long as he did - and he knows it. Thousands of prospective performers would have killed to be in his place, and he treated it with a shrug and a lazy attitude that wouldn’t be tolerated at a Chucky Cheese.

His last line (Someone said I Shot the Tambourine Man) was funny, but it just showed how lightly he was taking a show that we seem to take more seriously than he does.

BTW, I don’t like to brag (well, yes I do) but I hope you remember that I said to watch out for Syesha back when there was 12 contestants. I know everyone thinks it’s going to be a David vs. David finale, but each of the guys has gotten more cowardly and shaky in the past couple weeks, while Syesha has taken chances and loosened up. OK, she’s still the least likely to win,  but It. Could. Happen. Next week is huge.

Your thing for Syesha notwithstanding, she could walk down the streets of Chicago without a peep, but bet you Jason will be recognized anywhere. Isn’t it possible his shrugging and lack of attitude is due to shyness and lack of professional experience? Syesha’s grin smacks of vaseline on the teeth beauty pageants; not surprising she is the most poised of the finalists. But her voice? Please.

Hey, Neal. Yes, Jason was long overdue going home. When he told Ryan he already packed his bags, I don’t think he was kidding. He looked pretty happy after he was eliminated. Thank goodness, his teenage girl fans quit voting for him. Now, they just need to start voting for David A….. BTW, what’s a dander?! :)

MJ if you think Syesha has a bad voice you need to clean your ears out.

Yes, next week is huge. Thank goodness dreaded Castro is out. I applaud the voters of AI for getting it right … two weeks in a row (first Brooke, then Castro). The surprise for me last night was how well Bo Bice sounded. I’ve heard him on Idol shows before but it sounded like he has recovered from whatever was ailing him just after his stint on Idol. As for this year’s singers, will next week bring the annual “judges’ song choice”? I’ve been interested (and looking forward) in what might be selected for them. No more “Up With People” for David A, please.

I agree, I think it will be Syesha and Cook in the final two. Syesha is stepping up her game, while the Davids are boring us. David A is so annoying! Yes his voice is pure, but he can only sing one type of song. Oh and he is so akward with his dance moves. I’ve also heard his parents are crazy stage parents that would probably ruin his career anyway.

THANK GOD JASON IS GONE!!!! I still think it will be David vs. David in the finale; however, I hope that it will be David Cook and Syesha battling it out for the top spot. While David A has a great voice, he’s too immature for this contest.

Syesha sucks in a bad way, and her constant mugging is beyond irritating. She doesn’t have the “it” factor, and will not make the top two. The only thing she had going for her, and the reason she remained, is that the David’s and Castro had to split the same teeny girl vote among them.

Good for you since Jason Castro will not be on AI to torture you with his laid back attitude in a competition meant for singers with the killer instinct. I’m only glad Jason is done so I won’t feel the need to watch the show any longer and his iTune downloads will have to do until Jason’s success on his own terms. By the way, my college age son and I were both among his faithful fans. Wasn’t just his voice and good looks, it was his style that won us over…ever the nonconformist.

The final 3 are the right final 3 no matter what order they went out in. As for the final 2 it could go either way, but I think its going to come down to David A and someone else. As annoying as he is he’s got the popularity of the teeny boppers “He’s so cute!” vote. Blahgh! He’s all wispy and whiny and if he wins his physco stage dad is gonna run the show. I hope , for his sake, that he does not win. His eventual career will be better for it.
