I think "The Wire" killed itself by submitting its final episode. I loved it, but it was definitely for die-hard fans. A more consumer-friendly episode would have worked better (although...have they ever had one of those).
30 Rock had a rough second half and I didn't care for the Seinfeld episode, but they submitted a good one. They'll make the cut.

I'll be cheering for Friday Night Lights as I want to ensure it stays on the air as long as possible. I'm a big fan of Dexter as well.

For comedy, I'll root for The Office or Weeds. It was an up and down season on Office but I still think the writing is a cut above. 30 Rock showed big improvements and would be deserving as well.

Fantastic list -- now hopefully Emmy voters will get their heads straight and give The Wire some love. Kind of surprised they submitted the series finale as their entry, given that it doesn't have the flash of some of the other eps of the season, but it was beautifully constructed, especially in the last 30 minutes with the exterior shots of Baltimore going from sunset to sunrise the next day.

I would hope that "The Wire" and "30 Rock" win.

Since I'm an old codger, I would put both Doctor Kildare (Richard Chamberlain) and Ben Casey (Vince Edwards) somewhere between #3 and #7.

Chicago Hope came from the pen of David Kelley, a guy I think is highly overrated (except for a few seasons of The Practice).
You might be right on "Scrubs," but I still find it highly amusing...

I'd say you rated Scrubs too high.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but what about the early years of ER's rival "Chicago Hope"

Great pick of "Doctor, Doctor", there's a show I'd like to see on dvd.

I am an outsider but I believe that these radio staions are willing to donate their time to raise money for those who need help.not for publicity..and you criticize them because they get recognition..Congratulations for representing the broadcasting industry in such a positive way!
