Gomez Sits Out With Bruised Calf -Baker Injured

Posted on April 26th, 2008 – 5:54 PM
By La Velle

Twins starter Scott Baker left Saturday’s game with a mild groin muscle strain. It doesn’t appear to be serious but we’ll know more after the game.

Carlos Gomez won’t play today because of the bruised calf he suffered on Friday, but Twins manager Ron Gardenhire didn’t rule out the possibility that Gomez could start on Sunday.

Gomez clearly doesn’t know what to do with himself. He sat, not in front of his clubhouse stall, but inside it before the game. Never seen that before.

Gardy’s beat up, too. He’s already had two cortisone shots for an aching shoulder and did his pre-game presser on Saturday with a machine hooked up to one of his Achilles tendons.

Craig Monroe, who hails from Texarkana, Texas, starts in center tonight.

Justin Morneau is batting .373 with 7 homers and 23 RBI in 19 games against Texas since 2005.

Finally, for you minor league fans: The Twins minor league report returns this weekend. It’s not as long as we hoped, but it’s better than nothing.

The first installment deals with injuries - namely Kyle Waldrop (out for the year) and Deibinson Romero (out for a month). But I just found out a couple hours ago about another injury.

Henry Sanchez, the Twins’ supplemental pick in 2005, apparently blew out a knee a few days ago during an extended spring training game. Jim Rantz, the Twins director of minor leagues, confirmed the injury but is still waiting for details (like how bad it is and which knee is injured). Based on what I was told by my source - a major leaguer who has the same agent as Sanchez - it’s not good.

Sanchez was drafted out of high school with a supplemental pick after the first round. He was regarded as the top prep power hitter in the draft that year. But he’s played just 91 games in three pro seasons. He had hand surgery in 2006 and spent last year dealing with problems in the same hand as well as a right knee sprain.

“We just can’t keep him healthy,” Rantz said Saturday.

Lineups

Twins (10-12): 1. Matt Tolbert, SS. 2. Brendan Harris, 2B. 3. Joe Mauer, C. 4. Justin Morneau, 1B. 5. Michael Cuddyer, RF. 6. Jason Kubel, DH. 7. Delmon Young, LF. 8. Mike Lamb, 3B. 9. Craig Monroe, CF. Pitching: Scott Baker

Yay for Tolbert.

Finally Tolbert is playing. How did Punto sneek in there and get some at bats over the last week? Also, someone needs to tell Delmon to take some pitches. We need better quality at bats out of Monroe. he has been terrible since he single handedly won the game for the Twins against Blanton.

Hi La Velle, I am far too cranky today to make anymore comments. So, I am not going to say anything. If I can contain myself, that is.

Rangers 9, Twins 2.

Ponson: 6 innings, 4 hits, 1 earned run.

Morneau gets 3 of those hits (including a home run)

The pathetic slap hitting catcher gets the only other hit off of Fatass Ponson.

Karlee,

You are the only person I like in the whole world….and I’m not even sure about you. See how cranky I am? I am going to post the lyrics of the song I want you to sing for me, along with a video link. I will post it on the old blog (Twins-Rangers postgame). I am going to post it there, just so I don’t interfere with La Velles new blog. Not that I like La Velle, or anything like that…..he’s that blankety blank, who banned me and turned me into the blankety blankin’, New and Improved Craig…. I hate the New and Improved Craig!!

New maybe, as for the rest…..

SethSpeaks says:

Hadn’t heard about Romero… that’s not good! That said, with the way that Luke Hughes is playing at New Britain and the way Danny Valencia is (or isn’t?) hitting at Ft. Myers, there is no need to push Romero at all.

lilbiscuit says:

OK. My memory ain’t so bad. Ponson against Twins, lifetime: 9-2.

I look for a shutout tonight.

pressure is on tonite against ponson…cant let this guy make us look bad, can we??? this should be fun to watch…good for tolbert to be back in and leading off and hope monroe also gets some real good at bats…time for this whole bunch to put the past few days behind and get on with it…start tonite…hit, hit, and hit some more….

romer says:

April 26th, 2008 at 6:59 pm

Gomez makes it sound like a minor injury, saying he could come in late in the game. I take that with a grain of salt.

And such a kid……he claims it’s sore because he doesn’t have any body fat. lol

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:07 pm

You know, if all those guys were hitting like they should be…today’s lineup would be pretty stacked.

DJB says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

If they lose to that tub of shi& that will be the last straw for me.

lilbiscuit says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:10 pm

Mauer grounds into double play. Shocking.

romer says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:18 pm

I know what you mean, T. But Monroe was always a dream-wish, Cuddy’s been a little off since 2006, and no one expects Tolbert to an instant good MLB hitter.

But the other 6 guys…….

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:20 pm

If those 6 could hit…this lineup would be fine with Tolbert/Monroe/Cuddy.

DJB says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:21 pm

The Twins will soon be the joke around town until the Wild/Vikings get going.

Can the Twins get Gardy on the DL and get a real manager up?

La Velle's Mom says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:31 pm

La Velle, it’s Saltalamacchio.

The “macchio” part is easy, remember there are two c’s. And it’s all a’s — 4 of them altogether. “Salt” followed by “ala”.

Easy.

I see you filed your reports early. Gonna give me a call after the game?

Yours,

Jimmy Jam says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:34 pm

Hmmmm…..our first “drop the head of the bat”. Quit saying that Bert!

romer says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:37 pm

I feel for Gardy. Wish him well.

His players are uplifting him right now. Nice little rally going.

And now Pontoon is doing his part.

BC Beneke says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:41 pm

I kind of like this lineup.

It might not be so bad to keep Gomez at the bottom of the lineup for a little while.

romer says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:43 pm

20 strikes in the first 25 pitches for Baker.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:43 pm

This whole “Offense scores runs” thing is rather nice.

The whole “Pitching tries to give them right back” thing is less so.

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:44 pm

Good speed by Monroe

romer says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:44 pm

More high fives for the Rangers baserunning.

Jimmy Jam says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:44 pm

Here’s a quick lesson in hitting, or should I say how to describe how someone hits.

The phrase “drop the head of the bat”, for example, “Craig Monroe just drops the head of the bat and laces a double to left field”.

This doesn’t make sense.

If a batter was to “just drop the head of the bat”, the barrel of the bat would end up resting on the ground besides the batter’s back foot.

You swing the barrel. Whoever started the “drop the head of the bat” nonsense should make a public apology.

The phrase is not en vogue, but it seems to be habit forming with some announcers.

AaronK says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:45 pm

2 plays…1 last night and 1 tonight that gomez gets too. You take for granted what you have defensively until it is gone.

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:46 pm

Doesnt it seem like the pitchers always give runs back after our feeble hitters manage to score.

romer says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:46 pm

Baker has his 78 mph change/curve and his 83 mph change/slider tonight. For the 2nd time, M Young strikes out, this time on a FB.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:46 pm

JJ: Would “drop the head of the bat” be in reference to perhaps swinging with a more uppercut style (thus the head of the bat is dropped down rather than parallel with the ground)?

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:48 pm

Apparently the Twins pitching staff has grown accustomed to pitching without leads to the point where they detest actually having the lead.

Shawn says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:48 pm

its ok to throw the occasional ball

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:49 pm

Well, lets see if the twins batters can actually score runs in two separate innings.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:54 pm

Well crap.

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:55 pm

If the twins lose to Ponson, I really hope Vavra’s resignation comes shortly thereafter.

Shawn says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:55 pm

pinpoint control….. down 4-2, mix in a dirtball curve

romer says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:57 pm

Baker is pitching okay with good command.

Some good hitting and a Texas League double did him in for the 4 runs. Looks like Texas hitters are guessing good too.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:57 pm

*psst..* MSLY: You did see the whole thing where two starters in a row blew leads in the inning immediately following right?

DJB says:

April 26th, 2008 at 7:57 pm

I think Bert hits a little of old grandpas cough syrup during the games.

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:00 pm

*psst.* T: You did see the entire 2007 season didnt you, or how about the beginning of this year.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:01 pm

It’d be nice if the offense could get back in this right away to hopefully help Baker stay focused.

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:01 pm

pinpoint control….. down 4-2, mix in a dirtball curve

It works against most of the Twins hitters.

DJB says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:02 pm

It is almost comical that they are losing to Ponson.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:02 pm

MSLY: Beginning of the year? Do you mean the Detroit series?

Shaun says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:03 pm

T,

I wouldn’t count on it.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:03 pm

Just bunt. Every time. You’ll wear Ponson out in like a half inning.

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:08 pm

T:

I cant believe that I need to explain how horrible our hitting has been. But if you must — the twins are 29th out of the 30 teams in OBP, 27/30 in SLG, 29/30 in OPS, 27/30 in Runs, 26/30 in HR’s, 28/30 in TB’s. The bright spot of the offense is that they are currently 17th out of 30 in AVG.

If you would like me to pull the 2007 stats I can to prove my point. The hitting is horrible, Vavra must go!!

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:11 pm

Do you remember quotes like “our hitters were kept off balance all night,” and “our hitters were really fooled,” everytime we played the Royals? Jimmy Gobble owns the twins hitters!!! Jimmy freakin Gobble!!

Karlee says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:11 pm

Exactly, why aren’t we bunting?

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:13 pm

MSLY, I know the hitting has stunk. But the hitting isn’t responsible for the OTHER team’s runs.

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:14 pm

“I cant believe that I need to explain how horrible our hitting has been.”

Horrible hitters produce horrible hitting. Joe Vavra isn’t the GM.

DJB says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:18 pm

All you Tolbert lovers hes 4 for his last 21….

Greg says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:19 pm

Losing to a guy we let go last year. pitching 96 MPH, keeping Twins hitters off balance.

What are the odds of losing to this guy we released!

Shaun says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

Yeah DJB…nothing like having Tolbert sit on the bench to cool his bat.

SethSpeaks says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

“All you Tolbert lovers hes 4 for his last 21….”

Thank you!

Also, for those interested… Kevin Slowey threw five no hit innings in a rehab start for Ft. Myers tonight. Of course, the Miracle didn’t get a hit off of the Lakeland starter until the 8th inning.

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

I understand that our hitting can not account for their runs. But, I would hope we can score more than 2 runs against Ponson. He hasnt even pitched in the majors since last year with us.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:22 pm

So Ponson, who struggled with the Twins…goes to a new team and looks to be settling in.

Combined with poor starts by Liriano, Blackburn, and Baker.

I should rev the engine on the “Fire Rick Anderson” bandwagon.

Shaun says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:22 pm

Tolbert still is hitting 115 points higher than LNP with only 6 more ABs.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:25 pm

All you Packer-haters…Favre’s on the cover of the new Madden for some reason.

Shaun says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:26 pm

I stand corrected…Twins site shows him at .301 prior to tonight’s game.

Now he’s at .293 so the Mauer haters can rejoice.

April 26th, 2008 at 8:26 pm

I am for one am looking forward to Madden 2009 now.

MSLY says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:26 pm

T

Handcuffing the twins hitters isnt exactly a difficult task, that is my whole point. Jimmy Gobble does it all the time — that should be proof positive on how bad our hitting is.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:27 pm

This is just what the bullpen doesn’t want to see.

Everett_Fan says:

April 26th, 2008 at 8:29 pm

“Joe Vavra isn’t the GM.”

Normally, I don’t blame coaches but we have had two GM’s now bring in numerous players who have been somewhat successful on other teams and they come here and suck. Or they leave and play a lot better. Gardy and the coaches have to take some responsiblity for the fact that we are a running joke around the majors for our “style”. Throwing strikes should mean 75-80% strikes not 98%. Hitters eventually figure it out. Being aggressive shouldn’t mean swinging at everything. Our coaches are teaching an amateur approach.

Rick Anderson should be fired because he failed with Ponson, before Mark Connor (Rangers pitching coach) salvaged Ponson.

Gardy should be fired for hiring Vavra and Anderson.

Ponson should be signed as a free agent, because he received inadequate coaching last season with the Twins.

Kubel

Hey Craig how’s he looking tonight for a guy with no hitting talent? Last night he was robbed of a hit by Texas left fielder on a great diving catch. And missed a homerun buy about 4 feet.

I will never understand your dislike of him. You might say he plays bad defense, but I would catagorize him as an average defensive player, and we can always put him at DH.

“Give me examples”

Delmon, Lamb, White, Monroe, Ortiz(David and Ramon), Ponson, Cirillo

Stewart and Casillo were no better here if not slightly worse.

Sometimes a GM needs to get lucky or the coaches need to get something out of these guys. Who thought Hinske would hit? The Rays GM is not better than ours. Guys come here with a .250-.270 lifetime hitting and hit .150. People in other cities are used to some bad play from journeyman but not as bad as we get or as consistently crappy. We have to release almost 100% of free agents. Most times in the same year.

Delmon - he’s 22, and his OPS+ last year was just 92, so he’s fine.
Lamb - He’ll be fine, it’s been three weeks.
White - hadn’t been good for a couple of years, and he was hurt.
Monroe - wasn’t good in 2008, and he hasn’t played much yet.
Ortiz(David and Ramon) - Ortiz wasn’t that great with the Twins, this is the ONE easy example, and he never would have been this good with the Twins… Ramon hadn’t really been good for 4-5 years.
Ponson - Was he ever good?
Cirillo - He was hurt.

rangers defense seems to be our best offense…..they are definately helping us…2 alone in the outfield…

SethSpeaks says:

“You forgot the 200 AB rule.”

So, did Rondell White get 200 AB with the Twins in his two years? Did Cirillo?

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:16 pm

the good news is we cant lose to pontoon…the bad news is we couldnt beat him either…thats not acceptable…ponson up from AAA and we cant put him away…4 unearned runs against him…its time…just call up rochester and send down the twins….

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:16 pm

sy,

I don’t know what we do with Calvin, but he needs to suffer some consequences for what he has done.

SethSpeaks says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:19 pm

“just call up rochester”

Rochester doesn’t have any hitting prospects.

nor do the twins…but they might have a hitting coach

The New and Improved Craig says:

Ponson and now Guardado. Is that Terry Mulholland warming up for the Rangers?

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:37 pm

Vavra is performing magic tonight with the hitters.

The runs scored by the Twins tonight had nothing to do with the Rangers pitchers and fielders, or the Twins hitters. Vavra is responsible for it all.

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:38 pm

gardy does look a little beside himself tonite….if we think this is ugly, imagine what he must think…ufta

The New and Improved Craig says:

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:49 pm

awesome crain!!!

sane says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:50 pm

mj1,
Trying to hit outside pitches to the right side is what causes ground balls to 2B.
If critics would stop demanding the long ball from Mauer, the Twins might regain the AL batting champ.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:50 pm

Good job by Crain.

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:50 pm

Ben Broussard? How can that guy still be playing in the major leagues? This Ranger team has some awful players.

sy says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:54 pm

“Conclusions from tonights game:

Vavra should be fired because the Twins can’t even hit Sidney Ponson.

Rick Anderson should be fired because he failed with Ponson, before Mark Connor (Rangers pitching coach) salvaged Ponson.

Gardy should be fired for hiring Vavra and Anderson.

Ponson should be signed as a free agent, because he received inadequate coaching last season with the Twins”

“I second the motion, that sy’s post is the post of the season.”

I am honored by the nomination, but I owe everything to the little people whose annoying demands I imitated.

Royster says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:54 pm

Tolbert 0-5, better send him to AAA and put Punto in!

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:54 pm

not demanding a long ball, but an occasional line drive down the line or one off the baggie or in the gap..lets see what he does here…

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:55 pm

I’ll take it.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:56 pm

mj1, how about an RBI hit to left?

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:57 pm

“Sometimes it’s easier to fire one than to fire 25.”

There are people here who should take those words to heart.

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:57 pm

Yet another error by a Rangers outfield credited as a hit.

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:59 pm

thanks to more weak fielding, that weak flair to left is a hit, andof course we will take it, but its not what this kid should be doing so consistently…hes too good a hitter to be playing like this….

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 9:59 pm

Vavra has scored 9 runs and has 13 hits tonight. He’s on steroids.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:00 pm

mj1, sometimes you have to take the ugly “hits” to help get out of a funk.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:01 pm

I should add if this were the Twins defense, there’d be people calling for Gardy’s head…

Poor Ron Washington, there’s nothing he can do to right mental mistakes in the field.

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:01 pm

THAT’S what I like to see.

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:01 pm

Touch ‘em all, Joe Vavra!

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:01 pm

just what dr ordered…glad hes back…

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:01 pm

Okay, Bert guessed 5 last night…guessed 12 tonight.

I’m scared.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:03 pm

Though you’re being sarcastic Craig, you’re actually making a good point. Vavra will get no credit for anything in regards to this 12 run output tonight.

But god forbid the Twins get only 2 or 3 tommorrow…then we’ll never hear the end of it.

There are some posters who only seem to come out when the team is doing poorly. A good portion of the “Fire Vavra” camp is under that group.

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:03 pm

Okay, Bert guessed 5 last night…guessed 12 tonight.

And in between were 100 calls gone bad.

:P

sy says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:03 pm

T,
“Sometimes it’s easier to fire one than to fire 25.”

Its much better to pinpoint the actual problem, then to spray shotgun blasts at unsubstantiated scapegoats.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:05 pm

So, after Morneau and Kubel had the only 7-8 HRs…since then, Harris, Monroe, Gomez, and Cuddyer have all homered. (Morneau has homered again as well)

I think there’s been a homer per game with the exception of the middle game against Oakland.

That’s not too bad.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:06 pm

And in between were 100 calls gone bad.

True. True. But you have to admit that all things considered, correctly guessing the amount of runs scored by the offense in two consecutive games is pretty impressive.

thrylos98 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:06 pm

unsubstantiated scapegoats

T
give me a break. Regardless how many runs the Twins scored tonight, Vavra is an awful hitting coach. Period.

mike wants wins says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:06 pm

Wow, is TX always that bad on defense? One error you can live with, but geez.

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:07 pm

Indeed it is.

Royster says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:07 pm

Korecky’s used to pitching the 9th and the Twins have a 7 run lead, nice time for a ML debut?

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:08 pm

Hey thrylos…you may want to go ahead and take a second look at who’s post your actually responding to there buddy.

thrylos98 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:08 pm

Another stupid move by Gardy: Neshek in with 7 runs up… why not give Korecky a chance? Neshek might be needed tomorrow

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:10 pm

thrylos? Are you SERIOUS? It’s a 12-5 game and you’re complaining about Neshek coming in?

When’s the last time he pitched? Tuesday @ Oakland?

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:11 pm

LOL, Gardy won’t use Nathan in a very important spot in a game, but he’ll use Neshek in the 7th inning of a blowout.

Hilarity.

Royster says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:11 pm

Last night in Texas

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:11 pm

i would like to see korecky close it …

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:12 pm

T, he pitched last night.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:13 pm

Korecky likely gets the ninth. The goal is probably to hand the guy one inning as an into to the bigs.

sy says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:13 pm

thrylos98,
“Regardless how many runs the Twins scored tonight, Vavra is an awful hitting coach.”

And even if they score 12 runs per game forever, because I know exactly what he teaches the Twins hitters. They are under explicit instructions to pop up, swing at bad piches, refuse to take walks, hit the ball softly and strike out when they aren’t preoccupied with hitting the ball softly.

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:14 pm

Funny thing, I have never heard any Twins hitter complain about Vavra.

Even Torii credited Vavra for helping him as a hitter. Once Hunter started banging the outside pitch hard to RF, it helped him dramatically. Vavra spent hours helping Torii to learn how to handle that pitch away. It changed Torii’s career.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:17 pm

Twins apparently looking to make a liar out of Bert here.

snepp says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:17 pm

Lamb has hit the ball pretty well tonight.

Funkytown says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:17 pm

Seth, Perkins has improved a lot in each of his last 2 outings. Was struggling with
control, trying to get thru the 5th inning.

The Phils AAA team is bad, but still a complete gamer was good news for him.

He’s now allowed one earned run in his last 2 outings..

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:18 pm

gardy read your minds fellas

thrylos98 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:18 pm

Vavra spent hours helping Torii to learn how to handle that pitch away. It changed Torii’s career.

Torri’s best year was 2002. Vavra was a ‘minor league coordinator’ then.

sy says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:18 pm

Exactly Craig.
And I’ve never heard any EX-Twin hitter complain about Vavra, even though they could do so with impunity.

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:18 pm

I suppose in a twisted sort of way, you could blame Vavra for the Twins losing Hunter. Had Vavra not helped him, Hunter would have never improved, and would have remained affordable for the Twins.

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:20 pm

mj1, it’s pretty clear that was the plan. Have the new guy pitch in the final inning. Only three outs to worry about and less “mop up” should somthing happen (god forbid)

sy says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:21 pm

Torii had an anomaly in 2002, but became a much improved hitter in 2006 and 2007.

mj1 says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:24 pm

April 26th, 2008 at 10:26 pm

we dont want to see nathan tonite….

T says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:27 pm

See, this is why Korecky was brought in for the 9th and not the 8th. Should he get in trouble, they’ve only got one inning to come in and cleanup behind.

Nathan should be warming up though, that’s for sure.

The New and Improved Craig says:

April 26th, 2008 at 10:30 pm

“Lamb has hit the ball pretty well tonight.”

Good point, snepp, you crumb.

T says:

Boy, it’s a good thing Gardy didn’t put him out there in the 8th like everybody thought he should’ve.

The New and Improved Craig says:

I wonder how many ex-Twins pitched tonight.
