StylePointer: Comfy skirts

I recently got an email from Tracy, who is planning a trip to L.A. and is looking for a comfy skirt: “I love skirts and I’m looking for something fun, flowy, comfortable and that travels well. (modal?) I’m taking a family trip to LA and I want to “fit in” and be comfortable at the same time. I’ve tired of googling, although I’ve seen a cute skirt by J’AIME online. I just turned 40 and I like fun & flirty.” Well, I found a few (and I’m still looking!).
First, the skirt pictured above right and below right is from Cliche (on Lyndale and 24th Street). It’s by Oriental City and retails for $40 and is made from the stretchy soft material that you’re seeking. I also found this skirt (left) at Anthropologie ($78). It’s
made from French terry. Personally, I find that waist ties are usually flattering. In thinking about this, I realized that I haven’t bought a skirt myself in some time. (I’m in dress mode.) Something to satisfy us both is this dress/skirt by Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent ($174), available at shopbop.com.
It can be worn as a dress (pictured) or also as a pencil skirt. While I don’t wear strapless very often, the girls in NYC (sorry, I’m not as familiar with L.A.) would wear a long-sleeve tee underneath. Radical. Happy travels!
