Sometimes fashion shows up in the most unexpected places! I stopped in the new-ish contemporary design store Roam to check out the wide selection of Alessi and Philippe Starck Ghost Chairs (a favorite).

Imagine my surprise to find totes ($98, by Silent Revolution). Simple and sleek just like the lucite furniture. Then these flat rubber necklaces ($38 each) by Batucada that lay perfectly flat on your neckline, kind of like a tattoo.

The locally designed Silver Cocoon accessories ($88 for necklaces, $58 for bracelets and $30 for earrings) are bright like the resin jewelry earlier this week, but a little less clunky.

Perhaps the best merger of home and fashion was in the Dolce & Gabbana chair by Kartell. Leopard print, black lucite base and a gold plaque with the brand name. Also available: A super bright Missoni version (see it after the jump).

Roam, 813 Glenwood Av., Mpls., 612-377-6465.

Great totes — hold the perfect amount and better looking than others.
