Wow. These two looked amazing while shopping together. Jillian and Sigourney Link of Eden Prairie (”Prairie-dise” as they said) were hitting the Picky Girl and Flirt.

They carried Louis Vuitton bags from a Beverly Hills boutique. Jillian (the mom, left) wore a Free People jacket from Len Druskin, Levi’s from the Levi’s store in Honolulu and BCBG shoes. Her Konstantino jewelry is from Neiman Marcus.

Sigourney (the daughter, right) wore a Fun jacket from Len Druskin, with an impressively tied bow. (She is a freshman in the retail merchandising program at the University of Minnesota.)  Her jeans are True Religion from MetroPark at the Mall of America and her shoes are Steve Madden. The necklace is by local designer Helen Wang from Il Vostro.

StylePointing: Ruby red at J.B. Hudson

It’s hard to beat a red dress. I think it’s a classic go-to, if you want to make more of a splash than a little black dress. Sarah Lucas, of Atherton, California flew in to support her friend Jeannie Joas, J.B. Hudson’s president and CEO. Her dress was made for her (clearly!) by San Francisco designer Coltrane Conui.Shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti. When we grabbed her, she was trying on a pair of earrings. Word is that her husband left with a jewelry box of some sort.

We couldn’t leave the party without a few words with Jeannie Joas, president and CEO of J.B. Hudson. In fact, she was hard to miss in this Escada gown. Yes, Escada. Stunning!

She’s been working on “bringing the best of the old and best of the new” into this new incarnation of J.B. Hudson.

Victoria Beckham wore almost this exact dress to her 34th birthday party. Lindsay Pohlad wore it to the J.B. Hudson grand opening fete. It’s designed by Giambattista Valli…. I’ve only known one other person to wear a Giambattista Valli in Minneapolis. (SJP, when she visited here last year, for those of you who don’t recall.)

Lindsay, very appropriately, wore some incredible jewelry including this H. Stern bracelet. (I believe it is Diane von Furstenberg for H. Stern and Portia de Rossi possibly wore one to the Emmys in 2004.) Designers and celebrities aside, Lindsay put together a stunning ensemble.

Back at J.B. Hudson, Andrea Switz of Linden Hills was wearing one of the sharpest colors–this vibrant blue.

Her Akiko dress is from Neiman Marcus with an M Missoni sweater (from Saks.com). She polished the look with Gucci shoes and a Michael Kors bag.

She had a gorgeous diamond ring and this adorable necklace, both from J.B. Hudson.

Meet one of the shop gals from Covered. Ally Nordgaard was transitionally appropriate for last weekend’s sunny, but crisp weather. (Note: On Sunday afternoon, Covered had the door open.)

Ally wore an LNA tee shirt ($59), William Rast “Savoy” jeans ($220), Dolce Vita flip-flops (available at the Dinkytown Covered) and a Love Quotes scarf ($85). Another note: According to my sources, scarves are the big must-have on both coasts at the moment.

Have I mentioned how fashionable the crowd at J.B. Hudson was? Count Patty Elmstrand as one of the fashionistas. She got this M Missoni dress at Saks in Chicago. Her daughter actually helps her find such pieces, including the Jimmy Choo boots that polish off the look.
See the sassy back of the dress on the jump. (More photos from J.B. Hudson’s grand opening tomorrow!)
