StylePointing: Dropping in on “Dogs and Drinks”

I don’t have a dog, though I kind of want one. My college roommate, a fan of gianormous bouviers, always said that I would have an annoying little yippee dog. That has not yet come to fruition, but I saw my future at the recent gathering of Dogs and Drinks at Flirt.
Here’s Ashii Webster and her pooch Remy. She recently started the group Dogs and Drinks so owners of dogs weighing under 15 pounds could get together and, er, play. They put up a fence on Grand Avenue, outside of lingerie and bath shop Flirt and let the petite pups run free. Leader-of-the-pack Webster wore a dress from Anthropologie and shoes from Nine West. Remy is just about the cutest accessory ever., Look for future events on the group’s website (www.dogsanddrinks.com), which will include “Sauvignon Bark,” a broth-based concoction for pooches.

Here’s Kathy Ungerman, who was strolling on Nicollet Mall with her best friends in MN. She is originally from Brooklyn Park and currently a prosecutor in Seattle. She was in town friends and family. She did a little shopping, picking up this Farron Elizabeth dress at Covered. She’s purposely wearing it backwards. Well played: There’s nothing wrong with playing with your clothes! Her N.Y.L.A. shoes are from Nordstrom and the clutch was a previous Covered purchase.

You may have seen her in the newspaper last Thursday. She was our Style Star of the week… We’ll feature one person every Thursday. I recommend picking a copy of the Thursday’s Variety section or borrowing one from Starbucks to see who it will be this week. Oh, the suspense!

While Janet Sweeney of Minneapolis was dining with her family at Vincent, I was watching. Really, it wasn’t as creepy as it sounds, but when she came out of the restaurant, I asked to take her photo. (And received a lot of encouragement from an enthusiastic passerby.)
The family (her husband and two boys) had attended a wedding reception earlier in the evening. While there remains some mystery about the various components of her coordinated outfit–the dress is by Jones New York.

Lyntaii Thao of Woodbury is quite the shopper! The scientist/esthetician got her shirt from New York, shorts from Club Monaco and her bag from Arden B. The shoes? The platform sandals with a kitten heel? Those are Fendi, from Italy. Bravissimo!

It has been declared by magazines as a key look for summer. However, the floor-length drama dress can be difficult to pull off. Not so for Connie Milan, a U of M student and Minneapolis resident. She wore this Rampage dress (from Macy’s) with finesse. Paired with a Gucci bag and flip-flops, she’s poolside ready.

Last week, Calhoun Beach Club. It was hot, even by the pool, but Nikki Morris, a nanny from Minneapolis, dressed the part. The bright colors of her outfit (no black) looked great next to the deep end. She picked up the dress by Industry at Cliché earlier that day. Her red shoes and bag are from Buffalo Exchange.
